Computer technology has proved to be a boon to visually impaired persons. With the advent of text-to-speech technology, computers have become accessible to persons with vision impairment as well. With the help of voice output, a visually impaired person can easily work on Windows, MS Office, Internet etc. and can stay connected with the world. It sounds like an imagination, but it’s a reality. Computer education has opened a host of job opportunities for visually impaired persons. NAB, a visionary organization, judiciously assimilated the relevance of computer education and aimed to make it a part of the life of visually challenged persons. It collaborated with Tech Mahindra and dreamt to start such job-oriented computer courses.
The course is designed to suit the needs of different visually impaired persons coming from different spheres of life. For admission purpose age is no bar. The Organization has set up a most contemporary computer training centre. The NAB Technology Training Centre with accreditation from DOEACC, is authorized and competent for conducting such courses. It has three computer labs at its registered office at R K Puram. Each fully air-conditioned lab has computers with screen reading software and other necessary peripherals. The trainers are highly professional and are well-versed with their subject. The teaching methodology is based upon both theory and practical. An ‘industry-befitted’ curriculum has been crafted to enhance the employability possibility of each trainee.

The Organization conducts computer classes for blind and low vision students of integrated education programme. The Organization also imparts information on screen reading software to schools and institutes to help them to develop proper infrastructure for visually impaired students.
